With eyes softly closed I still taste you...

the lingering scent of you,
the rough sand of your face on my cheek,
the soft and gentle rhythm of heartbeats
   mere moments before locked as one
   roaring and surging now nestling gently
   calmly
   entwined
   inside and out...

With eyes softly closed I still feel the heat…
sheer animal flame, primal fire
released yet encompassing, quenched yet ever hungry,
the effort of merging sweat's sweet sting,
  the timeless moment,

  the afterglow

  the infinite softness of you and me
  and such a fullness
  I've come to know...

With eyes softly closed a single tear flows…
the indescribable emotion released from within

and as my eyes silently open
I find yours… looking in...

Feet slowly sinking in the sand

A lone seagull ‘awking’ in the wind

She steps forward

The salt water clinging to her ankles

As she looks at the distant rising moon...

The heat rising from the rolling water

Clenching fists……… eyes as wet as the sea

A deep breath……. Relaxing…….. dreaming

Struggling for balance….. yet steady

Bracing for the approaching wave

Darkness all around now

Deafening silence ….not hearing the roar

Moving one bare foot forward

Destination unknown…. Yet known...

 

The moon……… controlling and soothing

Another step………smiling now

Opening her hands, palms up…. Offering

Another step….feeling the water’s power...

 

Rocking…… lost in the moonlight

Eyes closed……….. screaming silently

Forward into the depths

Perfection……… sighing

Rolling with the power of the sea

Toes gripping the sand

Losing the battle… but not really.
