COME TAKE MY HAND

Come take my hand.  Come along with me.  Let me show you all the love I have for you.

Trust in me.  I walk neither ahead of you nor behind but always close by your side.

Feel the power of my love, radiating out over you.

Extending its strength that is constant and new.

My love is freely given, absent of all conditions.  It is a part of me I offer repeatedly like the incoming tide.

Come take my hand.  Stand close to me.  Let this love we share make us both stronger.

I implore you to listen to my words, feel the truth.  Hear them not with your ears but your heart.

We stand together side by side, filling the void in both of us that was once an empty part.

Come take my hand. Stand by me and share this love till eternity.

Do it for me.  Do it for you. I give you the love that I have held inside for so long.  Slide your hand in mine and hold it tight.  Close your fingers firmly around mine.

With every moonrise know that I love you and every day as you watch the sunset, think of me.  You are the sun that lights my day, and the moon that warms my night.

In return when I wake and the rays of sun touch my face, I will forget the darkness,  thinking of my love for you.

Finding time to be together so we can share our dreams with one another.  Always finding there is a way.

Come take my hand, stand close to me.  Share this love I offer which is honest and true.

Feel the power of my love surging into you.  The force of this love encompassing and becoming a part of you.
Come take my hand.

Hold me close.  Love me with the gladness of your heart and never let us part.

Come take my hand.  Cherish this love that is now ours. It will fill our body and soul with a tidal rush.

Come and take my hand.  I will never leave you, for you are the caretaker of my heart.

YOU..... ALONE

I wander… Not knowing,
Where I am going.
One look from you,
And I know what I’ve found.

You are my shelter,
From the raging storm.
Your are my rock,
For all eternity.
You are my protector,
From the evils of this world.

When you touch me, my world stops.
My arms around you,
Holding you,
In my sweet warm embrace.
My love, my life.

No words can ever express,
No action seems to be enough.
But I would be lost and alone,
If it were not for you,
And you alone…

FLAG DRAPED COFFIN...

Black was surely not her color
But she sat there straight and still
A trail of tears showed on her cheeks
Her heart… She felt the chill.

Her family gathered round her
Their faces just a blur
Her mind was racing, crashing
There was nothing left for her

In the center of the gathering
Upon a golden bier
The flag-draped coffin rested
She stared at it through a tear.

She sat, the numbness soothing her
As guns fired at the sky
And with each crack her body flinched
But now she didn’t cry

And when the echo faded
Another sound was heard
A bugler softly playing taps
The crowd said not a word

And then the flag was folded
The red, the white, the blue
And it was laid upon her lap
God!  Now what would she do?

The Chaplin stood in front of her
She lifted up her face
He gently took her hands in his
And whispered of God’s grace

She smiled and slightly nodded
And as he moved away
She clutched the flag against her chest
There was nothing left to say
She stepped up to the casket
And removed a single rose
And stood there for a moment
With it pressed against her nose

And then she turned and walked away
Without a backward look
And thanked the God of Abraham
For all the strength it took

On days like this the memories stir
As one remembers when…
The dreams they shared and plans they made
For things that might have been.

Time has passed, the pain has eased
But she will never ne’er forget
Her love, this fallen hero
Who served without regret.
